Summary:

These are incredibly fast triggers with short reset, little pre-travel and adjustable trigger pull - we are very happy to be running these in our personal ARs and are looking forward to the next wave of triggers to see what else they come up with. You won't be disappointed with one.

Hipertouch 24 3GSo Ryan stole my previous Hipertouch 24C trigger that I really liked, saying something about how he was building an AR pistol and that I already had a bunch of spares, yadda, yadda, yadda.  I missed the trigger, since it was incredibly fast, with a short reset and no creep when pulling the nice, flat trigger.  So sexy.  Sigh.

But my days of crying in the corner, surrounded by empty whiskey bottles from trying to drown my sorrows are over.  Hiperfire sent us a new trigger — It’s their new 3 Gun model.  And yeah, it’s that good.  It’s fine, Ryan – you can keep her!  I’ve gotta a new trigger in my life and I love her, er it, even more!

If you haven’t checked out our review of the rest of the Hipertouch line of triggers, that’s OK – we’ll treat this as a separate review.  For those who have, the Hipertouch 24 3G is the curved version of the Hipertouch 24C competition trigger.  It’s an easy to install, extremely fast and crisp breaking trigger intended for pure speed and reliability.

Installation:

Hipertouch includes a great instruction manual with the trigger, and also includes a video on their IMAG1431website to help with installation.  If you have ever installed a fire control group before, you will not have an issue installing this one.  It comes with everything you need, including a couple of parts not standard in other trigger systems:  additional springs and spring mounting systems.

These triggers use dual springs to let you adjust the trigger pull from 2.5-4.5lb. Basically, you select the matched pair you want to use for the weight you want, which Hiperfire has conveniently color coded, and that is all you need to do to set the pull weight.

The toggle spring system also increases the hammer fall by over 35% versus Mil-Spec and other trigger systems.  That is awesome, since it

IMAG1429 does it without increasing trigger pull weight and makes sure you do not have light firing pin strikes like you can when you try to lighten trigger pull by using lighter springs in other triggers.

Installing the springs is easy to do without any tools, but removing them will require use of your firing pin or other similar tool to push in the piece that holds the springs in place.

The tolerances are pretty tight – like their other triggers I did have to tap in the trigger pins but nothing excessive.

Overall:

The Hipertouch 24 3G is intended for  competition use.  It has a very short reset and can be fired extremely fast, which is important in 3 Gun where speed is points. And we do mean fast – we burn through a LOT of ammo with these triggers.  This is definitely a competition trigger and not one you’d want in your general Home Defense rifle – with almost no perceptible pre-travel, you will probably pop off rounds accidentally when the adrenaline is pumping, especially if you adjust the trigger pull to the lower end.  But if you need to throw lead downrange really, really quickly, this is your trigger.

I’d also be OK with this in a precision rifle – it’s in my AR10 currently.  For those that are considering a 2 stage so that they know exactly where the break will happen, this is an excellent alternative.

It’s a sexy trigger, no doubt about it – and considering Hiperfire has a trigger they ran for tens of thousands of rounds without cleaning and it Hipertouch 24 3G installedstill ran perfectly, it’s also extremely reliable.  Fast and reliable?  Music to our ears.
